During the Mercedes Benz Swim Shows at the Raleigh Hotel on South Beach Kelli Walters from Wilhelmina PA and I caught up with a Spanish hottie named Alexandra Aguilera who is with Next Models Miami. She told us a bit about herself and we enjoyed watching her on the runway (at least I did!) in a couple of beautiful bikinis by Crystal Jin. We have the entire show from this very talented designer coming up soon!

Last night in the American Express Skybox at Lincoln Center, New York Rangers all-star Sean Avery, there with his supermodel girlfriend (and Valentine!) Hilary Rhoda, hosted a Men’s Night of Fashion, Music and Sports alongside designer Robert Geller and guitarist Gary Clark Jr.

Guests mixed and mingled to the “blues-y/jazz” tunes of Gary Clark Jr. while chatting with Robert and Sean about fashion, both on and off the ice. The night fused together many of American Express’ Cardmember passion points – fashion, music, sports – and solidified the strong influence fashion has across so many different verticals.

He has been a strength coach, rehab specialist and nutritional consultant for the past 12 years, and is passionate about eating right and staying fit.Mike learned about the importance of staying in shape at a young age, following in the footsteps of his father who had made fitness a way of life.

He says that his dad was the prime influence for him starting his fitness regimen at a young age to stay in shape and keep a positive outlook. Unfortunately, his dad recently had a stroke, but luckily survived.

While a recent and debilitating stroke has left his father unable to travel to New York to see him compete in the finale events on the week of Feb 21, he knows he will be there in spirit to cheer him on along the way. “I’m doing this for my dad,” Fitch says.

Mike has a unique style of maintaining his healthy lifestyle, which is 100% nutrition and body weight training. He likes to get out of the gym as much as possible to engage in less-traditional workouts like parkour, paddleboarding and skateboarding.

This former New Yorker is excited about the possibility of being a fitness model and about returning to the Big Apple for the finals!

Joy Elizabeth named Nicolita Swimsuit model.

There is a girl named Joy Elizabeth, from Raleigh, North Carolina, who landed a great gig for Nicolita Swiwear – she was selected from hundreds of models to represent the swimwear line during the Mercedes Benz Swim Week at the Raleigh Hotel on South Beach.

Joy checks in as a 34-24-34B, 5’7″ black haired blue eyed hottie. She comes from a large family of nine brothers and sisters and moved to Miami from Lakeland, Florida where she lived for 4 years getting schooled at Southeastern University.

We engaged in some idle chit chat with her backstage before the big show (that video is coming up soon) – for now check her out in these two shots from Michael Cox on the Nicolita runway!

Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas

For the third year, Las Vegas welcomed Miss USA and the 51 contestants of the 2010 Miss USA Pageant. This is the 59th edition of the Miss USA pageant. The group arrived on May 4 for a week of events at resorts and venues in the Entertainment Capital of the World. The pageant airs live May 16th on NBC, at 7 p.m., over WPTV Channel 5 from the Theatre for the Performing Arts in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino.

The winner will represent the United States in the Miss Universe 2010 competition. Miss USA 2009, Kristen Dalton from North Carolina, will crown her successor at the end of this event. The 50 states and the District of Columbia will compete for the prestigious title.

The pageant will be co-hosted by Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone and Today show correspondent Natalie Morales. Colour commentary will be provided by Joan and Melissa Rivers. Pop rock band Boys Like Girls will perform during the swimsuit competition and country music star Trace Adkins will perform during the evening gown competition. Stone, Adkins and Rivers have all appeared on Donald Trump’s television show Celebrity Apprentice.

Kristen Dalton and Chet Buchanan are scheduled to host the Miss USA 2010 Presentation Show. For the first time since Miss Universe did last year, the Miss USA 2010 Preliminary Competition will be live webcast via Ustream (on www.missusa.com) in Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on May 12, 2010. The competition was broadcast in High Definition for the third time in history.

Pageants were held from June 2009 to January 2010 to select the representative for each state. During the final show on May 16, the fifteen delegates with the highest average score from the preliminary competition will be announced. There are 3 categories in which each contestant will be judged: personality, swimsuit, and evening gown. Each category counts equally. The top fifteen will compete in the swimsuit competition. The top ten delegates from swimsuit will compete in evening gown. The top five delegates from the evening gown competition (not averaged composite scores from both competitions) will compete in the final question round to determine the winner. The judges’ composite score will be shown after each round of competition.

Representing Miss Florida USA 2010 is Megan Clementi, a former Orlando Magic dancer and University of Central Florida graduate with a major in electrical engineering. She is also the co-host of a new UCF-themed children’s show, “UKnighted.”

THE BEST OF SPANISH FASHION GATHERS AT THE 51^ST EDITION OF CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK

51 designers presented their new clothes in a structured calendar of 43 fashion shows in Madrid, organised by IFEMA, which was celebrating its fifty-first edition from 18th to 23rd February at Feria de Madrid. They were being joined by almost 30 young designers who were showing their collections in the EL EGO showroom, a space with direct retail sales for the whole time that CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK was on.

Helbig, with a track record of more than ten years in the fashion world, where she has managed to successfully establish her demi-couture proposal of jewel-dresses, was making her debut at CIBELES showing creations with a well-defined, fresh and ultra-feminine style, where she combined sophistication and elegance. A fashion proposal which, as she herself defines it, answers to a feminine, glamorous, signature design.

The Basque fashion designer Ion Fiz, considered to be one of the enfants terribles of Spanish fashion, whose designs dress a high-spirited woman with a sophisticated and feminine attitude, returned to the fashion shows that are held at Feria de Madrid following several editions in which he showed his collections at off Cibeles. The same thing has happened with the creator María Escoté who, following an edition in which she showed her collection within the framework of off cibeles, will hit the catwalk at Feria de Madrid on 23 February. Escoté, who showed her first collection at EL EGO in January 2007, is a tireless, versatile young woman with overwhelming talent. She is the protagonist of daring, cutting-edge proposals that have colour as one of their inseparable allies. In her designs, she is firmly committed to a feminine, independent woman.

There is a new model agency in town and with what we have seen so far the model quality looks promising. See more at Pride Model Management. For now here is a nice girl named Ksusha.

My name is Ksusha… as for my age – let that remain a mystery…but I was born and raised in Siberia and after spending more than enough time battling the cold and ice, I decided to relocate to U.S. to be closer to the sun and to the camera. Honestly, I never even aspired to work as a model. My career began as that of a journalist and then one day, a friend of mine who was a professional photographer, took a snapshot with his camera and that was my start.

As I found out more and more about the business, I became very passionate about it. As a model, I’ve been introduced to a very interesting world full of unique opportunities and constant exposure to new people and places. The work is hardly mundane, and since I’ve always found it hard to stay in one place, I am happily running around town going to different castings with a smile on my face.

One particular job stands out in my mind and that’s a photoshoot of a summer dress collection on what was the coldest day in New York. Amidst what was almost a winter storm, my friend and I were led out on the ice in nothing more but heels and silk dresses. Needless to say, that’s not an experience that is easy to forget, but the most unexpected part of it – was how close the whole crew became with each other. It turned out to be a fun day filled with warmth and laughter.

I am frequently asked what my family thinks of my decision to be a model. My parents have never stood in the way, although of course, they would prefer that I do something much more grounded. They have never tried to talk me out of it, because I really enjoy what I do for a living, and that is rare. No doubt, some of my favorite moments – are seeing my family appreciate my work and smile when they are looking at my pictures.

My name is LINDSY and I am 21 years of age…

I was born in New Jersey and currently go to University of the Arts in Philadelphia and model for Wilhelmina!

I got into modeling by working hard. I was scouted when I was 14 by a Wilhelmina scout at an old navy in NJ. I missed the audition date because I was extrememly involved with dance at the time and my parents weren’t sure about modeling at the time. I went to a “polishing” school because I knew someone who owned it and there I learned how to walk the runway and apply make-up, but it’s wasn’t really until college when I danced on a professional dance team in Reading, PA and modeled for their swimsuit calendar that I really began to model. I have worked with a great amount of talented people from modeling sites online and built my portfolio. It took some time, but it was worth it all the way, and well, here I am!

Modeling is important for me because it’s passionate and expressive. It has taught me a lot about who I am and where I want to be going with my life. As a model you experience so many wonderful opportunities, it’s the best job.

What I love most about being a model is meeting so many artistic people!! It’s amazing what clothing designers, hair stylists and make-up artists can do! I get to be their muse and wear their brilliant art nothing horrible about that at all

What I like least about being a model is nothing. I have never done a job I don’t like. Otherwise I couldn’t do it and I have always told myself if I’m doing this for me, it will always be something I love, because otherwise I’ll regret it and I can’t live with regret.

My favorite modeling experience (I’m sure I will be experiencing many many more favorites with Wilhelmina) was one that I always remember is when I was a winner of a fashion show and they flew my mom and I to LA for a weekend and I got a 2-hour spa treatment at the Beverly Hills Spa and a limo ride everywhere I went. Not only was it a great experience for me but it openned A LOT of doors for me and I got to share it with my mom!

My goal as a model would be to …touch people’s hearts with art and the world of fashion, make lots of money to pay my parents back for school, travel the world, meet everyone I possibly can and most importantly, inspire everyone I can to follow their dreams and once I do that I will have succeeded!

My favorite picture in my book right now is between my body art shot on pointe shoes and my newest headshot from Wilhelmina because the body art is something no one has seen me do before and shocks everyone who sees it (and b/c the shooting part was easy, but standing while I was being painted was killer! i will never forget it haha) and my headshot because the colors and emotion from it, I think, are really inspiring and captures who I am perfectly.

My parents support me modeling because I think they know how passionate I am about it and how much I have wanted it for so long that they are happy to see me happy. That’s why they’re the best They have always supported me in any decision I have ever made. It feels good to know they are behind me.

Madison Hopkins – Wilhelmina PA

My name is Madison Hopkins and I am 19 years of age. I was born in Huntingdon PA and I got into modeling trough a talent competition in Florida, where I became “Model of the Year 2007” at AMTC.

Modeling is important for me because I enjoy meeting with the designers and all the chaos back stage, and then letting all of that energy out on the runway or set. What I love most about being a model is that you learn something new with every booking. You always have something different to do, even if you work with the same clients on an everyday base.

What I like least about being a model is getting lost on my way to the go-sees or bookings. ;) My favorite modeling job was Philadelphia Fashion Week!

My goal as a model would be to experience all the aspects of this industry, print, runway, advertising, web, and television and once I do that I will have succeeded.

My favorite picture in my book right now was taken by Kevin Sinclare of Marie Claire Magazine because I was jumping in high-heels, it took a lot of energy and time to do, but once it came out, it was a perfect shot!

My mom loves modeling because she used to be in the industry because my grandmother was a successful model when she was growing up, and she is use to being around the business.
