Visiting Romero Britto’s Studio

Thursday May 13th Ms Castro’s art class from Doctors Charter School of Miami Shores visited Romero Britto‘s  studio in Miami. Romero was so generous to share his time with the kids from 6th grade this afternoon.

Romero Britto was born in Recife, Brazil, but set up his studio in Miami after traveling to Europe in 1983. His happy and colorful art reflects his optimistic faith in the world around him. Britto is an artistic activist for charitable organizations worldwide and believes that art is too important not to share. He is a natural philanthropist and loves kids!

The kids watched Romero in action making a portrait of Rebecca Siqueiros, a student from the art class. They were very interested and amazed by his work, and at the end of the visit they all got a pin and a signed postcard.

The students also brought something for Romero. They made a colorful picture for him, a collage of each students work. And on the back they all signed it.
