Donna Karan is ‘modernly sophisticated’

Donna Karan has loads of merch from outerwear to scarves to knits to pants, not all of it skewed to a more soigné lady. ‘Wearable’ must be the most fitting word for DKNY’s fall collection. ‘Modern sophisticated’ was how Donna Karan described this collection.

Already well known for her American librarian-chic look, showed a collection full with striped knits, pencil skirts, fur collars and neat layering. Karan shows she understands a woman’s body, mood and constantly evolving lifestyle.

M.A.C. make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury would have thought: ‘More modern a take on a young, punky girl.’ A heavily lined eye and stained rosy lip were a ‘little bit 50’s’ according to Tilbury. But rather than creating the traditional smoky eye, she uses no eyeshadow, squared off the liner slightly at the outer corners and accented the lids with lots of black mascara.

Singer and actress Hilary Duff came to the show to show some support to Donna Karan as she is asked to design next years DKNY Jeans Collection.
