My name is Ksusha… as for my age – let that remain a mystery…but I was born and raised in Siberia and after spending more than enough time battling the cold and ice, I decided to relocate to U.S. to be closer to the sun and to the camera. Honestly, I never even aspired to work as a model. My career began as that of a journalist and then one day, a friend of mine who was a professional photographer, took a snapshot with his camera and that was my start.

As I found out more and more about the business, I became very passionate about it. As a model, I’ve been introduced to a very interesting world full of unique opportunities and constant exposure to new people and places. The work is hardly mundane, and since I’ve always found it hard to stay in one place, I am happily running around town going to different castings with a smile on my face.

One particular job stands out in my mind and that’s a photoshoot of a summer dress collection on what was the coldest day in New York. Amidst what was almost a winter storm, my friend and I were led out on the ice in nothing more but heels and silk dresses.  Needless to say, that’s not an experience that is easy to forget, but the most unexpected part of it – was how close the whole crew became with each other.  It turned out to be a fun day filled with warmth and laughter.

I am frequently asked what my family thinks of my decision to be a model. My parents have never stood in the way, although of course, they would prefer that I do something much more grounded.  They have never tried to talk me out of it, because I really enjoy what I do for a living, and that is rare.  No doubt, some of my favorite moments – are seeing my family appreciate my work and smile when they are looking at my pictures.
