Leifsdottir’s Medieval Fortress
Leifsdottir’s collection claims inspiration from the ancient monastery Mont St Michelle, creating a dark, mysterious world. Antique tapestries and oil paintings influence a rich palette of gold, crimson, berry, black and copper. Models didn’t walk down a runway they sat around a room playing card and reading. This presentation was awesome and would have completely lost its magic on a runway.
The collection include structured jackets, trousers, and pencil skirts wich created strong lines evocative of the architecture of the medieval fortress. Unexpected, romantic traces of ruffle and lace, reminiscent of the costume of noblemen past, soften sharp edges.
Leifsdottir encountered a magical world of gothic architecture, gargoyles and griffins, alchemy and astrology, and legends of long ago. Antique tapestries and oil paintings influence a rich palette of gold, crimson, berry, black and copper.
This show looked like a mysterious fairytale of wearable luxury. See more fashion, beauty tips, event flashes and global communiqués on the StyleWise website. Get our podcasts on iTunes!
