Carolina Herrera went for a 18th-Century Look in her Fall 2009 collection!
New York Fashion week show consists of many talented designers’ collections. One of them was Carolina Herrera with her stylish and classic collection fall collection. Herrera’s presentation was everything you would expect. Glamourous, sophisticated, elegant and rich in both colour and textures. Staged in the Tent in Bryant Park, the show opened powerfully with some fantastic copper looks in gazar, silk and lace.
Forget about the ’80’s, it was all about uptown elegance. Feminine pieces, designed with the actual female form in mind, floated down the runway in bronzed business suits, high-waisted pencil skirts, shimmery satin blouses in purple, fuchsia and teal.
The collection was almost ageless and offered many pieces suitable for everyday wear. The Carolina Herrera show was definitely a hit!
Carolina Herrera, the Venezuelan-born designer who has dressed high profiled ladies including Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, talked about power and optimism. ” Fashion should be very powerful,” she said. According to Herrera, her line is about women expressing their optimism even in times of economic crisis.
