Gifts That Give Back During Tough Times
UNICEF Ambassador, Dayle Haddon, Talks About the Small Ways We Can All Help Those in Need During the Holiday Season
Even in tough economic times, Americans are still finding ways to give – and charities say that every little bit, no matter how small, still makes a difference. UNICEF Ambassador, Dayle Haddon, talks about the small ways we can all give back to those in need.
In lieu of traditional holiday giving this year, UNICEF allows supporters to purchase Inspired Gifts that are real, lifesaving products that can be shipped to one of over 150 countries where UNICEF works. Gifts include oral rehydration salts, protein biscuits, mosquito nets, therapeutic milk and therapeutic nut spread. These vital essentials can make an immediate and dramatic difference to children worldwide.
In addition, several of U.S. Fund for UNICEF’s corporate partners have created special product offerings or other creative options to help UNICEF in its mission to reduce the number of preventable childhood deaths from 24,000 per day to zero. For each purchase of these items—which range from bracelets to books, and plush toys and solar lamps to luxury gifts and accessories—these partners will make a donation to support UNICEF’s lifesaving programs.
Supporters can also help bring hope, health and happiness to children around the world with the purchase of UNICEF holiday gifts and greeting cards. For 60 years, UNICEF’s holiday gifts and greeting cards have raised money to continue their lifesaving work and give every child their chance at a brighter future. While UNICEF has saved more children’s lives than any other organization, it takes all of us working together this holiday season.
